Ulm

Wybralam sie ostatnio do Ulm, najblizszego wiekszego miasta w okolicy. Chyba odzwyczailam sie od miejskich zapachow, halasu i takiej duzej ilosci ludzi naraz, chociaz musze przyznac, ze przez chwile cieszylam sie z miejskich urokow. Trafilam na dzien targowy, plac przed Katedra musial pomiescic pchli targ, food trucki i warzywniaki, na ktorych kroluja obecnie szparagi, truskawki i czeresnie. Byl to rowniez dzien rozy, piekne kolory, zapachy i ogromny wybor kwiatow. Widzac caly ten kram tak blisko Katedry nasunelo mi sie skojarzenie ze scena z Nowego Testamentu (a propos - Jezus tez byl w Ulm na sprzedaz). Wieza Katedry w Ulm  mierzy 161,5m i dzieki niej jest to najwyzsza chrzescijanska budowla sakralna na swiecie. Tyle sie dzialo na zewnatrz, ze nie skusilam sie na wejscie do srodka. Nastepnym razem pokonam 768 schodow i moze uda mi sie zobaczyc Szwajcarskie Alpy. 

Po drodze nad Dunaj natknelam sie tez na Festiwal Kultur, a pozniej mialam juz tak dosc szumu, ze zaszyalm sie w ksiegarnio-kawiarni. Dobra kawa i ksiazki, zawsze pomagaja:)

I went to Ulm recently, nearest bigger town in the area. I don't miss urban smells, noise and the large amounts of people at once, though I have to admit, for a moment I enjoyed the city's charms. It was a market day, whole square in front of Cathedral had to accommodate  flea market, food trucks and grocery stalls, with the most popular in season: asparagus, strawberries and cherries. This was also the day of Rose Festival, beautiful colours, smells and a huge selection of flowers. Seeing all of this so close to the Cathedral I could not help but to associate it with a scene from the New Testament (by the way - Jesus, too, was in Ulm for sale). The Cathedral tower in Ulm measures 161,5m which makes it the highest Christian religious building in the world. So much was happening on the outside, I was not tempted to go inside. Next time I will climb the 768 stairs and maybe I will be lucky enough to see the Swiss Alps.

On the way to the Donau I also stumbled at the Festival of Cultures, and after that I had to escape from city noise to cosy coffee shop in a bookstore. Coffee and books, always help :)
