Rome

Rok temu w pazdzierniku wybralismy sie na krotki wypad do Rzymu, pojechalismy z Matka, ktora chciala spelnic swoje marzenie. Wpis wspominkowy, jako, ze ostatnio ucichlo na bogu, pomimo tego, ze tak naprawde duzo sie dzialo i dzieje. Przeprowadzki, zmiany pracy, dzieci najblizszych...

Duzymi krokami zbliza sie kolajna zmiana, a wlasciwie zmiany, zawsze sklania mnie to do spojrzenia wstecz. 

Anyway,wracajac do  Rzymu. Wrazenia juz opadly, ale byl to dobry czas.

A year ago in October we went for a short trip to Rome, we accompanied Matko, who wanted to make her wish come true. Recently the blog has been very quiet despite the fact that our lives are full of  events, removals, work changes, appearances of babies in our closest circles....

We're approaching another big change, or rather a series of changes and as always it makes me look back in time. 

Anyway, going back to Rome. The first impressions are gone by now but it was a very  good time.

Streets are full of scouters and despite a chaotic and dangerous looking driving, it feels very safe. The fascination  with ancient Egypt is visible everywhere you go.
Ulice pelne sa skuterow, pomimo chaotycznego i na pierwszy rzut oka niebezpiecznego stylu jazdy czuje sie bezpiecznei. Wokol odczuwa sie fascynacje starozytnym Egiptem.

Muzea Watykanskie, dluga historia jak sie tam znalezlismy. Najwieksze zbiory sztuki na swiecie, nas ta ilosc troche przerosla. Liczba eksponatow polaczona z nieustajaco poruszajaca sie rzeka ludzi wewntarz jest naprawde meczaca. W pewnym momencie zmysly sie blokuja. Ale jest tam mnostwo fascynujacych skarbow.

Vatican Museum, it's a long story how we got there eventually. They hold the biggest art collection in the world, I think it was too much for us. The amount of exhibitions together with constantly moving flow of people is really tiring. The senses shut down at some stage. But there is a lot of hidden treasures.

Wiekszosc rzymskich rzezb byla orginalnie "naga", dopiero gdy Chescijanstwo wkroczylo na arene pojawily sie nanich ektra listki figowe w strategicznych miejscach.

It's  strange to look into Athena's painted eyes.

All of the sculptures were naked to start with, it's only when Christianity "took over" they gained an extra fig leaf here & there.
