Autokary / The buses

The buses are our main of locomotion here in Argentina, planes are too expensive and traina although much cheaper run only few lines and not that ones which we´re interested in. Long bus journeys are very popular and quite comfortable, standards of them are very high in comparison with european ones - each of them has a toilet, coffee available all the time, te seats are extremly comfty (there are 2types of them: coche cama i semi cama). Coche cama (bed) is a bit more expensive and comfortable although the seats don´t fold out to be totally horizontal so the feet end up being on a funny platform below. Our first journey was in coche cama. Semi cama (half bed) is a cheaper option, the seats are slightly narrower than in cama but the angle after spreading out are at nearly the same angle that cama. there´s a third option too - cama premium, a bit like a bussiness class on a plane, but we probably won´t try this one out as it´s very expensive. The prices of tickets are relatively low, for a 24h journey you need to pay 60-80 pounds depending on a company, and coffee, drinks and meals are included in the price (their quality vary too). Usually we choose the overnight trip as it´s less tireing. The amount of bus drivers is huge, they are like a separate social group and we experienced their power before our first journey - strike  in Buenos Aires. Total paralysis! During our first journey we didn´t get anything to eat or drink (we thought it´s a norm), most likely the effects of strike. The second journey was started after midnight and we were nicly suprised in the morning when one of the drivers started to serve hot sweet coffee and gave a breakfest cake to everybody. then we thought it may be just a company thing. The third journey suprised us with a hot dinner served by one of the drivers (by the way they always choose the fattest one to serve food, all of them do it very gracefully though) and with breakfest the following morning. The supper is served very late here between 22 and 23 which meant eating half-asleep as we managed to say hello to Morfeus before. Each bus has TV screens and usually during one journey we manage to watch few movies. All in all travelling in the big buses is rather fun . We always have luck to sit by somebody that snores really badly but we´ve leanrt to live with that. One more curious thing is that even though you pay for a ticket when you get on the bus you still have to pay for your luggage to be taken as well. On each of the terminals there are men who don´t miss any bus, either arriving  or leaving one and take care of loading the bags, for a price of course. If you decide to ignore the tip they comment very loudly or some even refuse taking your bag on the board so it´s easier to accept it and pay especially at the beginning of the journey just to make sure that the bag is going on the same bus that us and nobody is going to kick it around. At the end of the trip we sometimes pretend we don´t know the custom and don´t pay but of course only after we have our backpacks back:). Once I wanted to avoid paying and said that I don´t have any change just a 100 pesos and I heard: I´ll give you chnage.

We´re about to get on the next bus from Bariloche to Rio Cuarto back to our favourite Veilchental:) We can´t wait!!! We´re going with the same bus company that brought us here and as it´s the cheapest one the food is not that exciting, we have coffee available and tey serve supper but we can forget about other drinks and meals. Doesn´t matter. We managed to buy seats at the very top and at the front so we´ll be able to have a really good views as well as few others extras. extra space for legs, nobody behind us, close to toilet, close to coffee machine and TV, it must be fun:))

Autokary sa naszym glownym srodkiem lokomocji w Argentynie, samoloty sa drogie a pociagi choc sa o wiele tansze kursuja tylko na kilku trasach i to nie na tych, ktore nas interesuja. Dalekobiezne podroze autobusem sa bardzo popularne i w miare wygodne. Standardy podrozy sa bardzo wysokie w porowniu z europejskimi autokarami - kazdy ma toalete, kawe dostepna w kazdej chwili, fotele sa bardzo wygodne i sa dwa glowne typy - semi cama i coche cama. Coche cama (lozko) jest troche drozsza i choc wygodna i obszerna nie rozklada sie calkowicie, takze nogi sa wciaz ponizej na takiej smiesznej platformie. Nasza pierwsza podroz byla w coche cama. Semi cama (pol lozko) jest tansza opcja, siedzenia sa troche wezsze niz cama, ale kat rozlozenia bardzo podobny. Jest jeszcze trzecia opcja - cama premium, taka biznes klasa samolotowa, ale tej pewnie nie sprobujemy ze wzgledu na cene. Ceny podrozy sa tu relatywnie niskie, za 24godzinna podroz trzeba zaplacic pomiedzy 60 - 80 funtow w zaleznosci od firmy, w cenie jest kawa, napoje i posilki (ich jakosc tez sie zmienia). My przewaznie wybieramy opcje nocna, mniej meczaca. Ilosc kierwocow autobusow jest ogromna, pewnie stanowia odbrebna i silna klase spoleczna, ich mocy doswiadczylismy przed nasza pierwsza podroza - strajk w Buenos Aires. Totalny paraliz. Podczas naszej pierwszej podrozy nie dostalismy nic do picia ani jedzenia (myslelismy, ze to norma), pewnie postrajkowe efekty. Druga podroz rozpoczelismy o polnocy i mila niespodzianka rano byl jeden z kierowcow roznoszacy goraca slodka kawe i sniadaniowe ciacho. Wtedy myslelismy, ze to moze tylko ta firma. Trzecia podroz zaskoczyla nas goraca kolacja podana przez kierowce (swoja droga zawsze wybieraja do tego zadania najgrubszego, wszyscy robia to bardzo sprawnie) i sniadaniem dnia nastepnego. Kolacja podawana jest tu bardzo pozno, pomiedzy 22 a 23, wiec oznaczalo to jedzenia na pol spiaca jako, ze wczesniej zdazylismy przywitac sie z Morfeuszem. Sa tez ekrany i w czasie jednej podrozy udaje nam sie obejrzec kilka filmow. Generalnie rzecz biorac podroze autokarami sa dosc przyjemne. Nam zawsze trafia sie ktos chrapiacy jako sasiad, ale mozna z tym zyc. Kolejna ciekawa rzecza jest to, ze pomimo zaplaty za bilet przy wsiadaniu do autobusu trzeba jeszcze zaplacic za to,zeby bagaz pojechal z nami. Na kazdym dworcu sa panowie, ktrorzy rzucaja sie na podjezdzajacy lub szykujacy sie do odjazdu autobus i pakuja torby, nie za darmo oczywiscie i jesli nie da sie im napiwku pojawiaja sie komentarze, niektorzy nawet odmawiaja przyjecia torby. Lepiej wiec zaplacic szczegolnie na poczatku podrozy i miec spokojan glowe - nie bedzie rzucania i kopania bagazu i pojedzie dobrym autobusem. Przy odbiorze mozna sie jakos z tego wykrecic, jak juz sie dostalo torbe oczywiscie:) Raz chcialam sie wykrecic i powiedzialam panu, ze niestety nie mam drobnych tylko100, a on na to: ja ci wydam. 

Szykujemy sie do nastepnej podrozy z Bariloche do Rio Cuarto i z powrotem na nasz ulubiony Vielchental:) Juz sie nie mozemy doczekac!!! Jedziemy z ta sama firma, ktora nas przywiozla jako, ze jest najtansza i niestety troche gorsza od innych, co prawda kawa i kolacja jest, ale o innych posilkach i napojach mozemy zapomniec. No nic udalo nam sie kupic miejsca na gorze i z przodu, wiec bedziemy podziwiac widoki, bedzie rowniez kilka innych zalet: wiecej miejsca na nogi, nikogo za nami, blisko do toalety, automatu z kawa i telewizora, bedzie przednia zabawa:))
