We came back to Mendoza where we found a really nice hostel Chimbas (recommend to anybody who will be here), which doesn{t look that great from the outside but the indoors are hiding real treasures. For the price of bunk bed in Cordoba we get a room where even Ricardo has its own bed;). The kitchen is a dream of every backpacker, full of pots, colourfull plates, spices and everything that can make me happy when it comes to equipement. On the top of that it{s clean and warm everywhere! Breakfest in the contrary to other hostels in not a stingy version so we can enjoy the taste of nice bread with dulce de leche or tomatoe confiteur sipping hektolitres of fresh coffee.
The first day here brought a suprise - unpacking my bags I found qutie a nice sum of pesos which I completely forgot about and hid the in Poland in case of robbery. Can,t describe the joy!!! We decided to treat ourselves to slightly better food, go for gigantic ice-cream and buy a good bottle of wine as being in Mendoza oblige to it. We chose Malbec - a speciality of a region and it was definitely worth it.
Mendoza is a beautiful city, the center piece is a round square with a large fountain and the nearby strrets hide four more little squares which cut of the centre. It,s very green in here (we even found some daisies) and the streets seem to be more spacious, cleaner, less stray dogs running around. In comparison with Cordoba the buildings are lower as well. From every corner of the city you can see the snowy peak of Aconcagua.
It,s quite easy to orientate yourself in every town or city in Argentina - we,ve learned that main street is always called gr.San Martin and for sure there will be a statue of their great hero in the centre.
First day welcomed us with a sun and we ragained our strenght and spirit very quickly, we like it so much here we decided to stay whole week. Two last days have beed rainy which gave us excuse and time to look after our bodies a bit more and catch up with communicating with the world. We are also planning a trip to lower Andes but that,s a story for next time.
